The Samsung YP-U1
If that special someone still hasn't succumbed to the draw of the iPod shuffle, you might consider substituting a Samsung YP-U1 in its place. Almost the same size as the shuffle, but the U1 includes a display (so you can actually see what you're listening to), a fold-out USB port (so there's no cap to lose), and PlaysForSure support so you can follow up with a Napster To Go, Rhapsody To Go, or Yahoo Music Unlimited subscription as a stocking stuffer. Oh, and we shouldn't forget the U1's dashingly good looks, which should help you forget that shuffles still don't come in black— all at a price about the same as Apple's offering.

You sure the YP-U1 is playsforsure subscription compatible? I've been looking for a decent, cheap player for my Yahoo Music Unlimited subscription, but http://www.playsforsure.com and http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=YP-U1Z%2fXAA don't show playsforsure compatibility. What gives?
I got one of these the other day and boy oh boy!!
The sound quality is absolutley supurb!!!
it supports MP3, WMA, OGG and Variable Bitrates.
Stuff the ipod shuffle!! Another great thing with this is, theres no software needed to put music on the player. You just plug it in, and it comes up as a removable hard drive (providing you have installed the driver). It also has a voice recording feature and built in mic. And the battery? Never buy them again, with this , you just charge through your USB port. you can get up to 13 hours of battery life out if it. It also had 'SRS True Bass' and 4 preset EQ. The Chipset is also nice and fast (meaning, no more waiting for it to play the next track)
how much is this?
